Oil Pump Cover
Overview
Its primary function is to ensure that the oil is
not leaking outside the pump while its operating,
thus reducing the frictional losses in the pump and
delivering high pressure oil at low energy
consumption. However it also has an important
function of securing the pump from leaking the
external air inside the pump while engine is not
running, thus reducing the priming time of the
lubrication system. The oil pump is generally
located inside the crankcase of the engine. |
